Natasha and Margo - Capturing Grace on a 23 day journey through Ukraine and Greece, Photographing for SOW (Serving Orphans Worldwide)
After trips to Fathers House in 2017 and 2019, this years trip feels like coming home. We are always so grateful for the love and attention to detail that Natasha puts into each of our trips.
Natasha is the head of public relations and fundraising at fathers house and is a vital part of their success.
I loved taking Natasha and her daughter Margo’s portrait back in 2019 (first photo). Being together again brings so much joy!
Over our meals together I learned that Margo’s favorite subjects in school are biology and chemistry, she is a barista at Coffee Love (Fathers House own coffee shop!) but is well on her way to becoming a surgeon. She’s as bright as she is beautiful.
I just love her lavender latte’s and her glasses!
About Fathers House in Kiev Ukraine -
In 2017 I photographed at Fathers house and It did not take long to to understand why Jodi Jackson Tucker, International director for Orphan Sunday calls this special place in Kiev, holy ground.
Sitting across from Roman and his daughter Anastasia in 2017 during a 1 1/2 hour interview, I heard stories that stirred my heart. Romans experiences were filled with unmistakable God moments that ultimately changed the life of this Ukrainian medical doctor. I listened in awe about the glimpse God gave Dr. Korniyko in 1995 of what orphans in his own city were experiencing. Children hiding in abandoned buildings, running in gangs, begging on the streets for food, atrocities to unspeakable for me to say. Through this glimpse, God gave Roman a heart that beats for saving the lives of children who have nowhere else to turn.
Our return to capture this story on video is a dream come true.
